Mark Stephens has worked in, and researched the HR & Recruitment landscape for over 20 years, focussing on the unique blend of recruitment technology, evidence-based processes, and human behavioural science in order to optimise performance and recruitment outcomes.   He is a serial entrepreneur, a previous winner of the prestigious Chambers of Commerce - Innovation in Business award, and the founder of Smart Recruit Online Ltd, the winner of several national and international awards for recruitment innovation.

Joe Slavin

Recruitment Strategist & Advisor

Joe performs a variety of Chair, Advisory and NED roles for a range of recruitment industry clients looking to thrive in a crowded, competitive market. He provides strategic advice based on 25+ years of industry experience, in order to exponentially grow his client’s business over the medium and long term. In the challenging and dynamic times that lie ahead, Joe’s vision, combined with his innate knowledge of the jobs cycle will be imperative to success.   His current roles include Chair of both Smart Recruit Online and Shine Interview, NED of the Recruitment Events Company, and Board Advisor to Get Optimal and Apply Gateway.   Joe’s experience was formed as CEO of fish4, Managing Director of Monster UK and Managing Director of JPI Media’s brands JobsToday and TheSmartList.

Sarah Hayes

HR Director, Securitas

With over 25 years of HR experience, Sarah is a fellow of the CIPD and has held several senior HR roles in organisations across a wide range of sectors including retail, rail, financial services and protective services.   In her current role as HR Director at Securitas, Sarah combines both her operational excellence expertise and her HR experience, with her passion for people and employee engagement. With a particular interest in talent acquisition, promoting diversity, learning & development and health & wellbeing.

Rob Green

Founder & Director, Rectec

Rob has over 15 years working in and around recruitment. Over 3 of those years were spent working with Huawei and Capita as an ATS/Technology consultant, tasked with managing recruitment technology projects and vendor selection. In 2019 Rob formed Rectec, the very first innovative technology services business, that is designed specifically to help companies select the right recruitment (ATS/CRM) software for their business. Rectec: Helps companies make smarter decisions about the technology they use, with their unique Vendor Intelligence Platform

Nichola Ripley

Head of Talent, Oak Furniture Land

Nicola is an experienced Talent Acquisition & Recruitment Manager, currently working in a Head of Talent Acquisition role at Oak Furniture Land. Having previously operated in senior roles for organisations such as Howdens Group, Maximus Healthcare, Servelec and Next Plc, Nicola has been through the Rectec supplier selection journey a few times now, and openly shares both her positive and negative experiences.

Abi Adamson

Founder, The Diversity Partnership

Quoted in the New York Times as one of the "Stars of Black LinkedIn", Abi is also often described as the future of D&I thought leaders. Abi Adamson is the Founder of The Diversity Partnership and is an established and highly respected International DEIB Consultant. Not only were her words featured in the NY Times but also in The Yorkshire Post and appeared on the Social Recruiting Show in recent times. Abi is based in London and has a proven track record of delivering positive global DEI culture strategies and facilitating DEI sessions for some of the world's best-known companies (Spotify, Slack, Google) and has been instrumental in developing some great frameworks when it comes to making sure organisations and brand were hiring and promoting as inclusively as possible. Charlotte Allen

Diversity & Inclusion Manager, Barclays Bank

Charlotte is the D&I Manager within Barclays Bank where she manages a team of Diversity & Inclusion Specialists and oversees inclusivity with the banks internal recruitment processes.

Samantha Hurley

Operations Director and Diversity Advocate, APSCo UK

Sam is APSCo’s Operations Director and has 30+ years of experience in the UK recruitment sector.  She’s responsible for APSCo’s Embrace (EDI) resources for UK members, and sits on their Embrace (EDI) steering committee.

Anna Button

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Specialist, Next

Anna is currently the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Specialist at Next Plc. Prior to that, she spent 11 years in HR with West Yorkshire Police where she also held the position of ED&I officer. Anna’s unique insights into the subtle differences between the public and private sectors in regards to DE&I objectives will bring an interesting dimension to this discussion.
